Thank you for looking into our Junior Optimist Club!

Our club is for youth aged 10 to 17, who live in the Kitchener area.  Our monthly meetings are held at the Doon Pioneer Park Community Centre on the 3rd Tuesday of every month from 7:30-8:30. This is where young leaders come together to make a difference in your community and the world as well as have fun a the same time.

What can you expect from our club?

Youth Leadership Opportunities: Take charge and develop the skills that will help youth become a stronger leader at school, in your community and in their future career.  Our club is self directed.

Service Projects: Make a difference with hands-on projects that give back to your community, like organizing charity drives, helping at local agencies, or raising awareness of global issues.

Lifelong Friendships: Join a supportive network of friends who share your passion for helping others and making the world a better place.

Fun Events: As the club is self directed, they develop their own schedule of local and regional activities.  Some ideas so far have included guest speakers as well as tours of local agencies.  These will help members learn more about the needs in our community and ways to assist. They will have opportunities to connect with other Junior Optimists, learn, and – most importantly – have blast!

We know that young people can change the world. The Junior Optimist Club of Kitchener is  more than just a club – it is part of a movement of young people from all over the globe who are committed to optimism and a brighter future.

First official meeting of the Junior Optimist Club of Kitchener!

Tuesday February 24th 7 p.m.-8:30 p.m.  CHARTER PARTY!

We will be in the Multipurpose room at the Doon Pioneer Park Community Centre.   There will be refreshments, presentations a short speeches.

Saturday February 28th, 2026 10:00 a.m. - 10:50 a.m. Dom Cardillo Arena

Skating at Dom Cardillo!  No charge.  Bring your skates and dress warm!  Family members are welcome too!

Tuesday March 17th, 7:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m.

Other 2026 dates will be added here sometime in December when room bookings are confirmed.

Sponsors help to keep the programs affordable.  In particular, sponsorships can offset the cost of fees for members as well as increase the amount of funds that can be donated to agencies chosen by the Junior Optimist Club Members.
